The sculpture SPQR is a reproduction of the standard featured in the statue of Carthaginian general Hannibal at the Louvre Museum. The emblematic inscription “SPQR” (Senatus PopulusQue Romanus), representing the Senate and the People of Rome, is deliberately inverted, as Hannibal is depicted holding the standard upside down. This reversal serves as a critical tool, prompting an overdue interrogation of the Roman Empire and colonization.
